The Secular Franciscan Order is a branch of the worldwide Franciscan Family.  It is a secular movement established by St. Francis of Assisi almost 800 years ago. Members are single or married. 

Secular Franciscans follow the OFS rule to spend time in community with Franciscan brothers and sisters. We gather at least monthly to pray, support each other, and learn about our church, our community, and world.

Our rule mandates us to be involved in apostolic ministries. We take action on issues, especially regarding social justice.

You will have plenty of time to get to know us before making a commitment. The OFS requires three months of orientations, six months of inquiry, and another 18 to 36 months of formal discussion, education, and involvement as a candidate.
