Renovation Update, Week of September 7:

Much has happened in the last four weeks of work, including the framing of the new walls of the St. Francis Room and surrounding meeting spaces, followed by the hanging of drywall. Things are taking shape, literally!

Higher noise levels due to concrete cutting: This week, from Tuesday, Sept. 8 until Friday, Sept. 11, parishioners should be aware there will louder noise than usual, as the concrete cutting of the CMU (Concrete Masonry Unit) load-bearing wall will be taking place. This is where windows will eventually be placed, looking into and out of the parish library as well as an office space. The good news is, construction personnel anticipate that the noise won't be quite as loud as initially anticipated. We were able to get a sampling of the noise when the floor boxes were being cut out of the concrete floors several weeks ago.

Renovation Update, Week of August 2:

The biggest detail of this week is our Blessing of the New Walls event on Tuesday, August 4, at 5:30 p.m.! All parishioners are invited and encouraged to take part as we bless the new walls of our parish meeting spaces!

In the renovation process of our downstairs meeting spaces, as we move from a phase of demolition into one of construction, we invite our parish community to mark this transition by blessing the framework of the new walls before they are filled in.

Before these walls are enclosed, we will ask God's blessing upon the spaces that will soon become places of catechesis and formation, prayer and community for all ages. Together, we will dedicate this space to the Lord, entrusting it to the Holy Spirit, through the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, the Immaculate Conception.

Join us:

• Tuesday, August 4
• 5:30 p.m.
• in the Chapel lobby area.
• Please bring any sacramentals, cards or sticky notes with written messages of blessing, Scripture verses and prayers with which you would like to bless these walls.

Blessed medals and stamps will also be provided for those who would like to leave a sacramental but don’t have one on hand.

Renovation Update, Week of July 26:

Parishioners, please be advised that there will be some loud noise July 28-29 in the construction site, due to concrete cutting and jackhammering that is being done in the bathrooms and new meeting spaces of the St. Francis Room area. The noise will possibly present an interruption to those praying in the Chapel, and it might also be audible during the 12:10 p.m. Mass Tuesday.

Actualización sobre la renovación - Semana del 7 de septiembre:

Han sucedido muchas cosas en las últimas cuatro semanas de trabajo, incluida la instalación de la estructura de los nuevos muros de la Sala San Francisco y de los espacios de reunión adyacentes, seguida de la colocación de los paneles de yeso (drywall). ¡Las cosas están tomando forma, literalmente!

Niveles de ruido más elevados debido al corte de hormigón: Esta semana, desde el martes 8 de septiembre hasta el viernes 11 de septiembre, se informa a los feligreses que habrá más ruido de lo habitual, ya que se realizarán cortes en el muro de carga de bloques de hormigón (CMU). En esta zona se instalarán posteriormente ventanas que comunicarán la biblioteca parroquial y una oficina con el exterior. La buena noticia es que el personal de construcción prevé que el ruido no será tan intenso como se esperaba inicialmente. Pudimos hacernos una idea del nivel de ruido cuando se realizaron los cortes en los suelos de hormigón para instalar las cajas de conexión empotradas en el piso hace varias semanas.

Actualización sobre las obras de renovación – Semana del 2 de agosto: 

En el proceso de renovación de nuestros espacios de reunión en la planta baja, al pasar de la fase de demolición a la de construcción, invitamos a nuestra comunidad parroquial a marcar esta transición bendiciendo la estructura de las nuevas paredes antes de que sean cerradas.

Antes de que estas paredes queden cerradas, pediremos la bendición de Dios para los espacios que pronto se convertirán en lugares de catequesis, formación, oración y comunidad para personas de todas las edades. Juntos, dedicaremos este espacio al Señor, encomendándolo al Espíritu Santo por intercesión de nuestra Santísima Madre María, la Inmaculada Concepción.

Acompáñenos:

• el martes 4 de agosto
• a las 5:30 p.m.
• en el vestíbulo de la Capilla.
• Por favor, traiga sacramentales, tarjetas o notas adhesivas con mensajes de bendición, versículos de las Escrituras u oraciones con los que desee bendecir estas paredes.

También se ofrecerán medallas e imágenes bendecidas para aquellos que deseen dejar un sacramental pero no tengan uno a mano.

Actualización sobre las obras de renovación – Semana del 26 de julio: 

Se informa a los feligreses que, los días 28 y 29 de julio, habrá ruidos fuertes en la zona de obras debido a los trabajos de corte de hormigón y al uso de martillos neumáticos en los baños y en los nuevos espacios de reunión del área de la Sala San Francisco. Es posible que el ruido interrumpa a quienes estén orando en la capilla y que también se escuche durante la misa de las 12:10 p.m. del martes.
